About Sian Elizabeth Hughes
After finishing her BA(hons) Degree in Jewellery and Silversmithing, Sian Elizabeth Hughes completed a six month residency before opening her studio in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
Whilst studying for her degree Sian Elizabeth Hughes’ work evolved to rely on simplicity and sensitivity to the materials, forms, colours and textures. Sian’s work takes inspiration from natural forms and she enjoys creating simple, honest forms, she aspires to create desirable and precious three-dimensional objects that can adorn the body.
Sian Elizabeth Hughes cuts, forms and finishes all of the elements in her Florish collection by hand, she enjoys making her pieces by hand as it gives her as much contact as possible with each piece to ensure the composition is correct and says that character and indiviuality are very important to the process of designing and making, as is attention to detail.
