Jessica Hewitt graduated in 2005 from Birmingham City University with a First Class Honours degree in Jewellery & Silversmithing and has gone from strength to strength, she regularly exhibits at many of the UK’s most prestigious jewellery shows and has built up a loyal following of collectors of her floral inspired jewellery. We asked her 5 Questions.
Where is your studio? Near my home in Coventry.
Where do you find your inspiration? Floral imagery found in modern and vintage textiles.
What was the first piece of jewellery you ever made? A brooch made from acylic and base metals based on the theme ‘cascade’, a project at university which had moving parts and was quite big!
Who is/was your favourite jeweller? I really like Nick Hubbard and Kathie Murphy’s work.
If you weren’t a jeweller, what would you be? A CSI!
and finally What is your biscuit of choice when enjoying a cup of tea and a think? It has to be a chocolate digestive dunked!
