Chris Hawkins Jewellery Corvid Range Crows Cufflinks
Another fanfare of shameless self-promotion for gorgeous things on a Monday but these Chris Hawkins jewellery Corvid range Crows are just too darkly delicious not to mention, nay rave about.
New for winter 2009, Chris Hawkins says of his Corvid range ‘Blackened silver and dark garnets give the collection a distinctly dark feel.’ This gothic collection is inspired by the obsession that the Victorians had with collecting.
‘An early interest in sculpture, and a fascination with the miniature led me into jewellery making. My work combines the highest level of craftsmanship with a sense of wonder and discovery, as the closer and longer you look, the more you will see. While highly informed by fashion my work is also tactile, pleasing to both the hand and eye. In recent years I have become increasingly known for, and concentrated on, collections for men. I was trained in the traditional goldsmiths apprenticeship.’
Looking for gorgeous gift ideas this Christmas? Searching for that delightfully different piece of jewellery for one of your beloveds? Well, look no further. We’re now showing two collections by multi award winning jewellery designer Kimberley Selwood and they are simply stunning examples of modern jewellery. Each piece in the Butterfly Effect Collection and the new Kimberley Selwood Plume Collection are handmade by Kimberley. Her attention to detail led her to winning the prestigious New Designers Award for Jewellery and her jewellery is now part of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths Modern Greats Collection.
Kimberley’s inspiration comes from organic forms and her designs are enhanced with intricate hand-pierced patterns and delicate textures.
Easy living magazine described Kimberly Selwood’s jewellery as having eye-catching originality which is perfect for evening elegance. We think that Kimberly’s jewellery is simply stunning and would delight anyone opening a gift box on Christmas Day.

In September Dame Vera Lynn became the oldest living artist to top the UK album chart, knocking Artic Monkeys off the top spot. Yesterday she was in London launching the 2009 Poppy Appeal.
The first official Royal British Legion poppy day was held in 1921 and ever since 1922 all of the poppies have been made by the Poppy Factory – set up when Major George Howson MC founded the Disabled Society to help disabled ex-Service men and women (you can read more about the Poppy Factory and its history here.) – each year the factory produced 38 million Remembrance poppies.
We have a collecting tin and poppies at Plush Jewellery in Chichester this year if you’re passing and would like to make a donation.
Paloma Faith is fast becoming the soundtrack to Autumn 09 at Plush Jewellery, her album ‘Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful?’ is stunning.
It’s a bonus, two gorgeous things this Monday and the second is the brilliant Rouge G de Guerlain Jewel Lipstick Compact. A gorgeous lippy in it’s own mirror compact all designed by jewellery designer Lorenz Baumer, gorgeous, useful and you can buy it from Debenhams.
Monday, the week stretches out in front of us. I’ve decided to use my Monday blog posts to highlight gorgeous things that have caught my eye. Though in a fanfare of self-promotion, today’s gorgeous thing is this stunning Trap ring from the collection by Paul Finch Jewellery, though future gorgeous things will not necessarily come from the pages of Plush Jewellery (pop a comment below with your gorgeous things). The Paul Finch Jewellery Trap ring is made with hallmarked matt finished Sterling Silver which has been plated with 18ct gold and is set with four stunning sparkling 3pt diamonds which glisten from within the shell-like form. It’s available to order in all sizes – pop over to Plush Jewellery for a closer look.
